Meet Halvor Flowstone and Chantico

The park is home to two trolls designed to blend perfectly into their rocky surroundings.

  • Halvor Flowstone: Strategically located near the cave entrance, Halvor is the guardian of the cavern. His name is a nod to the “flowstone” formations found inside the caves, created by the slow accumulation of minerals. His design, which appears to be made of rock and moss, allows him to merge naturally with the landscape, giving him the appearance of being as ancient as the mountain itself.

Chantico – Defender of the Fire

  • Chantico: Her name means “Defender of the Fire,” and Chantico is located near the Alpine Coaster attraction. She not only adds a magical touch to the park, but also symbolizes the warm spirit and energy of the mountain. Her name comes from an Aztec fire deity, a fitting choice for a figure watching over the fun and adventure of visitors.

Who Created Them?

Unlike the wooden trolls that have gone viral on social media, the trolls at Glenwood Caverns were created by Brainchild Creative from Sevierville, Tennessee. This company specializes in themed sculptures and immersive environments, and they designed Halvor and Chantico to be durable and weather-resistant enough to withstand the harsh mountain climate, ensuring they can remain permanent guardians of the park.
